Who are we?
Military Families Speak Out is an organization of people who have relatives or loved ones in the military and who are opposed to war in Iraq. We were formed in November of 2002 and have contacts with military families throughout the United States, and in other countries around the world. Our membership currently includes over 3,000 military families, with new families joining daily. We have 22 chapters throughout our nation.
As people with family members and loved ones in the military, we have both a special need and a unique role to play in speaking out against war in Iraq.
It is our loved ones who are:
- Risking injury and death on the battlefront with inadequate body armor and armored vehicles.
- Placed in the horrible situation of injuring or killing innocent Iraqi civilians.
- Returning emotionally scarred from their experiences.
- Not receiving adequate medical and psychological care after returning from the war.
Our message is simple:
- Support Our Troops!
- Bring Them Home NOW!
- Take Care Of Them When They Get Here!
The Capital Region chapter of MFSO serves the Yolo, Sacramento and neighboring counties of central and northern California. Laurie and Russell Loving are the co-founders.
